//DIGITAL MARKETING DESIGN

Process Overview

To begin projects that will live digitally, it is important to first understand where they will be posted. This informs the specifications of the design as well as provides a guide as I interpret how users will interact with the design. Using the brand guidelines and provided assets sets up the foundation for the design to take form. Design is a collaborative and iterative process where feedback is fielded from team members at each stage of development to ensure each design meets the needs of the client. In order for designs to be successful, I make sure to take time to research the style and tone the client wishes to convey with their messaging. Social media is a powerful tool to see what has worked well in the past and earned engagement.

Collaboration

No design comes to life on its own. Each project starts by talking with the department handling the request. This helps me understand what is important to the client. In order to create content, I must first know what the intended outcomes are.

Variation

I find it beneficial to see what has been done in the past—what has the client liked, and not liked? The guidelines dictate what can go into a project, but being selective is what takes a design to the next level. Designs should convey a message as clearly as possible, and often times, adding too many elements over complicates things.

Iteration

A design is rarely ever finished after one pass. It is crucial to gather feedback internally from the design team—new viewpoints can be considered much more easily. I will go back and forth with the team until we're able to refine the design to achieve the desire effect.
