Process Overview
Posts were created on a case-by-case basis as needed by the client. The copy is the focal point of all designs and, as such, the greatest attention was paid to ensuring readability and establishing hierarchy. Many of the posts utilized quotes which meant that managing large amounts of text was often times a key challenge to overcome while designing, since the copy could not be altered.
These posts were designed with integration to Instagram in mind. Therefore, all posts utilized the 1:1 ratio. It was very important that all content should fit within these bounds in a way that highlighted important information quickly, to catch the attention of someone scrolling by.
The client's top priority was high contrast designs. Their guidelines contained vibrant colors which were key to establishing the brand identity. Posts were designed to be high energy and eye-catching to capitalize on the brief amount of time available for making an impact on social media.
In addition to being high energy, the client's brand aimed to be fun and approachable. The lava lamp inspired backgrounds were a key piece of achieve this feeling. Abstract, colorful backgrounds helped to establish a unity across the client's many different posts. The somewhat unusual backgrounds make the posts immediately identifiable as coming from the Minerals Make Life campaign.
Increased awareness of issues facing the American population as it pertains to mining and the use of rare earth minerals.
